Abhishek-Karisma Break Off Engagement!   The Big B’s 60th birthday was a big day for Abhishek and Karisma. The couple’s long courtship finally culminated in a joyous announcement of their engagement. The unison of another filmi couple would go down in history of Bollywood, and of course this time it was the marriage of the two most illustrious and idolized khandaan’s from the world of Indian cinema – The Bachchans’ and the Kapoors’.   While everyone has been waiting ever since, with bated breath for the families to announce the D-day for the wedding, we heard the shocking news from industry sources that inexplicably, Abhishek and Karisma have called off their engagement. It seems there were several reasons for this unexpected break-up, but neither of the two were available for comment.   Though the world seems to be talking about their so called break-up, the handsome duo of Abhishek and Karisma prefer to be mum on the issue. So far there has been no denial or official confirmation from the either side.  Karisma and Abhishek are both unavailable for comment.  They’ve kept this break-up completely low-key just as they had kept their blossoming relationship at one point of time. In fact little is known whether this is just a temporary split-up, a passing transient phase, or is here more to it than what appeared.   "Yes, the engagement between Karisma (Kapoor) and Abhishek (Bachchan) has been called off," says former actress Neetu Singh, Karisma's aunt. But Neetu isn't willing to say what led to the split. About four months after the couple was engaged, news of the break-up came as a shock to the family. "Don't ask me too much. I don't know what went wrong. But they have split. It's very sad," says Neetu, wife of Rishi Kapoor, brother of Karisma's father Randhir. The couple was engaged at a function at J W Marriott and the news was formally announced by Abhishek's father, Amitabh Bachchan, at the launch of a book on his 60th birthday. It became the most talked about event in town. "It's sad  karisma, abhishek had   to split. It's sad. Only they'll be able to tell you what went wrong." commented Neetu Singh.   However, close sources reveal that the Abhishek isn't his usual gleeful self… “He is not doing much talking and is keeping to himself,” said one of the unit members of the set that Abhishek is currently a part of.   Our source revealed that it has been a mutually amicable split and that the childhood-friends-turned-betrothed were still on talking terms. Given their lineage and their polished backgrounds, could it be any other way? We wish the couple a great future anyways – with or without the other.
